I recently had the opportunity to see Mulan in theaters, and I was very impressed. The film is a visually stunning epic with a lot of heart. Liu Yifei gives a powerful performance as Mulan, and she is well-supported by a cast that includes Donnie Yen, Jet Li, and Gong Li.

The film is faithful to the original ballad, but it also makes some changes to the story. For example, Mulan is given a love interest in the form of Chen Honghui (Yoson An), a fellow soldier who eventually discovers her true identity. I thought this was a welcome addition to the story, as it added an extra layer of complexity to Mulan's character.
